Sigel retires as president of specialty distribution at UNFI
DAYVILLE, Conn.--Four months after buying Millbrook Distribution Services, United Natural Foods Inc. announced Feb. 29 that Robert Sigel will retire as president of specialty distribution and president of Millbrook effective March 14.

Sigel is leaving the company to "pursue other interests," according to a UNFI statement. Sigel joined Millbrook in 1977 and was president and CEO since 1990. Casey Van Rysdam, UNFI's vice president of business development, has been appointed president of specialty foods. Rysdam joined UNFI in last December. Rysdam has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty food industry, previously working as regional president of Tree of Life Southeast and Tree of Life Canada.

The announcement came after the natural food distributor cut its profit target for the year and linked its lower second-quarter earnings to a slower-than-expected integration of Millbrook. UNFI bought Millbrook in November.
