Gourmet du Village plans to reopen May 1
MORIN HEIGHTS, Quebec--Gourmet du Village is planning to be back in business around May 1. The company shut down March 12 after a roof collapse at its facility here killed three employees.

The company established a temporary office March 24, Mame Norman, director of marketing at Gourmet du Village, said in an e-mail. Phone, fax, and e-mails will remain the same.

Its entire computer system, including placed orders not yet processed, are intact. Gourmet du Village will be in touch with their sales reps and will let them know when they're able to accept new orders and provide customer service.

The finished goods warehouse was "totally untouched" and contains more than 12 weeks of finished goods ready to ship, Norman said

Gourmet du Village, based here, is known for its gourmet gifts, including dips, hot chocolate, herbs, spices and tableware collections.
