"With the way the economy has been as of late, we have been working to create ways to help out small food companies-many of whom are experiencing credit and cash flow crunches-and the people working in this industry-many of whom are being laid off," said Ryan Montague, founder and CEO of Gourmet Business Solutions LLC, based here.

Montague, who was a recipient of Gourmet News' 20 Under 40 Award last year, and his team recently launched the two Web sites. At www.gourmetfoodjobs.com, companies can list jobs and job seekers can search listings. And www.foodfunding.com offers advice for start-up and established food companies alike seeking investors.

Montague said he saw a need for the industry-specific job site and hopes they'll both be helpful tools for the specialty food industry. Montague plans to offer the gourmet job board as a free service. "We might just keep them free and use them as a tool to promote our core business and to help the companies we work with."
