Progressive's collapsible salad spinner takes gold at Housewares Design Awards |

NEW YORK-Winners of the Best of the Best 2010 Housewares Design Awards were announced Feb. 3 at the New York Marriott Marquis here.
The Collapsible Salad Spinner from Progressive International Corp. won the coveted "Best of the Best - Gold" Award.

The "Best of the Best - Silver" Award went to the Chicago Metallic Lasagna Trio from Focus Products Group LLC.
Nellie's PVC-Free Dryerballs from Batten Industries won the "Best of the Best - Bronze" Award.
The awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of Housewares Design," recognize the best-designed housewares products of the year. Products judged were introduced to the United States market between Oct. 1, 2008, and Sept. 30, 2009. No prototypes were allowed. An independent judging panel selected products based on superior design, appearance, function and originality.
The eco-friendly winners of the "Green House" Design Award - Batten Industries' Nellie's PVC-Free Dryerballs, Electrolux UltraSilencer Green and NextLife RainStore Rainwater Collection System - were recognized at the event.
Thirteen "Best in Category" Awards were also named.
