New York Gift announces 'major reorganization'
NEW YORK-Over the next three years, the New York International Gift Fair will implement a series of changes to product categories and layout, the show announced Feb. 1.

Called "Focus Forward NYIGF 2013," the transformation will result in the creation of four market collections-NYIGF Home, NYIGF Lifestyle, NYIGF Handmade and NYIGF New!-each with defined and carefully-edited product categories. Home will encompass furnishings, textiles, decorative accessories, tabletop, housewares and Accent on Design; Handmade will include designer-maker and global resources; Lifestyle will present personal care and wellness, gift and stationery, fashion accessories and Baby + Child; lastly, New! will feature New York's Newest, a showcase of companies new to the New York market. The changes are engineered to expand resources, spotlight new products and innovations and create cross-marketing opportunities.

"This strategic reorganization will enhance NYIGF's position as the premier U.S. home, gift and lifestyle market and will strengthen show performance for buyers and exhibitors alike," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president, in a statement.

The reorganization follows the Gourmet Housewares Show's Dec. 11 announcement to collocate with the 2011 winter NYIGF.
