The Scrumptious Pantry partners with JDY Gourmet for Illinois distribution |

CHICAGO-The Scrumptious Pantry, a line of estate-grown terroir foods, has partnered with JDY Gourmet for exclusive Illinois distribution. JDY Gourmet, a second-generation family business, is specialized in connecting small family farms with more than 400 independent restaurants and specialty food stores in Illinois.
"JDY shares our passion for the small family farmer, and they have great fine food expertise as the exclusive Illinois distributors for Creminelli Fine Meats and Spanish brands such as Ortiz Tuna and matiz," said Lee Green, Creator of The Scrumptious Pantry. "We could not have found a better partner to grow the reach of The Scrumptious Pantry and bring our Real Food from Real People to Illinois foodies."

The Scrumptious Pantry currently consists on Italian heritage foods, sourced directly at the farm where the ingredients are grown. In a unique branding approach, the farmer is prominently pictured on the front label, guaranteeing the quality of the product with his name.
"At JDY, we bring foods with clear provenance to out customers. We are excited to be confirming this positioning as the exclusive distributor of The Scrumptious Pantry in Illinois," said David Yourd, President of JDY Gourmet. He added that some of The Scrumptious Pantry products will be made available for foodservice too.
"JDY Gourmet's expertise working with small farms in the Midwest will also provide great input as we are developing our American line for The Scrumptious Pantry," said Greene. The launch of the U.S. line of unique heritage foods is planned for spring 2011.
