Tea Forte acquired by Sara Lee
Luxury tea company Tea Forte, has been acquired by global food giant Sara Lee for an undisclosed sum, it was announced Tuesday.

With posted revenues of $12 million in 2011, Tea Forte's award-winning teas are sold in 35 countries, in loose format and in the company's signature pyramid infuser.

"Acquiring Tea Forte fits perfectly into our strategy to spin off 'CoffeeTeaCo' as a pure-play coffee and tea company poised for strong growth," said Jan Bennink, executive chairman of the board, Sara Lee Corp. Tea Forte's current management team will continue to run the business independently before integrating it into Sara Lee's international coffee and tea operations.
