Noted Chef Jose Andres to host sofi(tm) awards at Summer Fancy Food Show |

Acclaimed chef Jose Andres has been announced as the host for the 40th annual sofi(tm) Awards, to be presented at the Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C. in June.
Named "Outstanding Chef" by the James Beard Foundation in 2011, and internationally recognized as a culinary innovator, Andres will serve as keynote speaker and presenter of the awards at a red-carpet ceremony on June 18.

Andres is credited with introducing Americans to avant-garde and traditional Spanish cooking, and is a passionate advocate for food and hunger issues. His speaking fee will be donated to World Central Kitchen, a global organization he leads that is committed to ending world hunger, and DC Central Kitchen, the renowned non-profit in Washington he has long supported.
"Our sofi(tm) Awards recognize innovation and excellence. Jose Andres is sure to provide inspiration to our honorees and the hundreds of specialty food artisans and entrepreneurs attending our gala event," says Ann Daw, President of the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. (NASFT). The NASFT owns and operates the Summer Fancy Food Show, the largest marketplace for specialty foods and beverages in North America.
