Hain Celestial purchases top brands from UK's Premiere Foods |

Leading natural and organic products company Hain Celestial Group will acquire British company Premier Foods' portfolio of market-leading packaged grocery brands, including Hartley's(r), Sun-Pat(r), Gale's(r) Robertson's(r), and Frank Cooper's(r) - with peanut butter, honey, jams, fruit and jelly, marmalade, and chocolate product offerings - as well as Premier's manufacturing base in Cambridgeshire, UK.
"The acquisition of the Premier Foods brands furthers our goal to expand in the United Kingdom and positions the new expanded business in the top 40 of all food and beverage suppliers in the UK," commented Hain Celestial President and CEO Irwin Simon. "We expect to leverage the loyal customer base from [Premier's brands] with our existing global brands including Rice Dream(r), Celestial Seasonings(r), Earth's Best(r), Terra(r) Chips and Sensible Portions(r) in the United Kingdom marketplace."

The purchase will be conducted by Hain Daniels Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary created last year following Hain Celestial's acquisition of The Daniels Group. Hain Daniels makes and sells fresh food and drinks in eight chilled and frozen food categoriees. The transaction is expected to close by the end of October 2012.
