Cucina Fresca Gourmet Foods has updated its packaging for all fresh pasta, while also gaining new retail partners in states including Texas, Northern California and Arizona.
Set to be in store coolers by year-end, the new retail trays use less plastic by weight, and increase shelf life by upwards of 20 percent. The company is achieving this through an upgraded packaging machine.

Recent retail wins include Central Markets and Rice Epicurean in Texas, and increased place-ment in Bristol Farms in Northern California and AJ's Foods in Arizona. The company's shelf-stable sauces (Marinara, Smoked Tomato and Tomato Vodka) are available in more than 70 Safeway stores in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. Cucina Fresca products are now available in more than 1,000 groceries, specialty shops and foodservice channels throughout North America.
The company has also forged strategic partnerships with regional natural foods distributors: Co-op Partners in the upper Midwest, Jane Fine Foods in British Columbia, Canada, and US Foods. Notably, the company has experienced a 62 percent sales growth over the past five years, and attributes a notable portion of its success to a focus on expanding specialty distributors serving the natural and gourmet foods markets.
