QTrade Teas acquires Kopius Teas
QTrade Teas & Herbs, the largest supplier of organic teas in North America, has acquired Kopius Teas, a leading e-commerce provider of B2B bulk teas for retail businesses.

Since 2008 the two companies have partnered closely to exclusively manufacture, package, and market specialty teas for startup enterprises. QTrade focused on the larger food service and branded segments, offering formulation, blending, and packaging contracts for high volume bulk teas. Its clients range from tea shops and coffee roasters to bottled drink companies and food service brands.

As the North American tea industry has continued to grow, the needs of food service and e-com-merce are converging, with shared expectations of high quality product, timely market data, educational materials, supply chain transparency, and access to vendor-managed inventories.

Consequently, "We felt this was the right time to acquire Kopius Teas and offer a unified web platform for all established and aspiring tea businesses in the US and Canada," remarked Manjiv Jayakumar, QTrade's President.

As part of the transaction, QTrade has appointed Ronald Eng as Vice President, E-commerce. Mr. Eng will also take a leadership role in developing educational programs and providing strategic guidance.
