On Monday, Dec. 17, Chobani opened the world's largest yogurt facility in Twin Falls, ID, indicating faith in the continued growth of the category. It is the company's second U.S. facility, after their original plant in upstate New York. The one million square foot plant was built in under 11 months, at a cost of about $450 million.
More than 300 people have been employed at the new plant, as production and distribution have already begun on new product innovations set to launch nationally in 2013. Additional hires are expected to come on board over the next several months.
