Vermont Farmstead Cheese Co., Castleton Crackers to merge
Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company (VFCC) has acquired fellow Vermont firm Castleton Crackers, toward a more efficient promotion of the state's artisan products.

"Vermont is currently home to hundreds of producers of specialty artisanal foods," states VFCC's Senior Vice President, Specialty Foods, Valerie Traynor. "Our venture will allow both of our brands to creatively enhance our own product lines while building awareness for Vermont's top-quality specialty food offerings nationally."

VFCC is also a natural fit for Castleton's hand-made, hand-cracked crackers, in flavors created to pair with specific cheeses. The cooperative recently expanded its distribution, debuting in 200 stores in 15 states.
