Inventure Brands expands licensing agreement with Vidalia; new snack line coming
Specialty food manufacturer Inventure Foods has entered into a licensing agreement with Vidalia Brands Inc., the Georgia sweet onion brand, to develop a new line of prepackaged snacks for vending, grocery and convenience store distribution. The agreement expands Inventure Foods' portfolio of national brands, including Jamba, T.G.I. Friday's and Nathan's Famous.

"We have a successful track record of taking consumer brands into the prepackaged, ready-to-eat space," said Steve Sklar, senior VP of marketing for Inventure Foods.

The first product will be Vidalia Sweet Onion Petals, a baked snack made with sweet onion puree in the form of an onion stick. It features zero trans fats and 130 calories per serving. The snack is currently available for wholesale pre-order, in 2.25 ounce ($1.99 SRP) and 3.5 ounce ($2.49 SRP) bags. The snack is expected in stores and vending machines within the first quarter.
