La Tienda campaign raises US$50,000 for Spanish food banks
La Tienda, the Virginia-based importer, distributor and online retailer of Spanish specialty foods, has raised $50,000 to assist the Federation of Spanish Food Banks in a campaign hosted on its website. The donations totalled $25,000, and were matched by the company, with no administrative costs deducted.

"Even more than the funds raised, we've been reminded of the unbelievable capacity of Americans to help those in need, even while they are also facing hardships at home," noted La Tienda CEO Tim Harris in the Huffington Post. "People are helping Spain and also helping those in their own community or giving relief for the victims of Sandy. They tell us they feel blessed to be able to help people at home and around the world." La Tienda is also a longtime supporter of Virginia food banks, and maintains Spanish operations outside of San Sebastian.
