Hollands Family Cheese tops U.S. Championship Cheese Contest
The Mature Aged Gouda by Wisconsin's Hollands Family Cheese has been named Grand Champion at the United States Championship Cheese Contest, announced Thursday. Rounding out the top three were Tarentaise, by Vermont's Spring Brook Farm/Farms for City Kids Foundation, and a Medium Cheddar from Illinois-based Cracker Barrel Natural Cheese.

Held annually in Wisconsin, the contest is the country's largest technical evaluation of cheese and butter. The event has more than doubled in size since 2001, with more than 30,000 pounds of cheese entered in 81 classes this year.
