LANDOVER, Md. and QUINCY, Mass.--Over the next several months, Giant Food and Stop & Shop will implement their Value Improvement Program designed to lower prices and strengthen their strategic position in the marketplace, according to company statements.

The grocers, both owned by Ahold, will start the program with its new paper aisle today.
