CARLSTADT, N.J.--As part of the Pantone Fashion Color Report for spring 2007, released this week by the color standards provider, are designers picks for home decor colors including the dining room and kitchen.
While neutrals and splashes of corals such as Strawberry Ice, Golden Apricot, Tarragon yellow and purples such as Grape Mist and Hollyhock are on the designers palettes for spring clothing, hues of lavender, teal, and silver are part of designers picks for home interiors. Pea Green with black furniture and Lavender Lilac accents is one dining room palette envisioned by designer James Coviello, according to a Pantone statement. While popular in several designers' fashion forecast, Elie Tahari said Lavender painted in a breakfast room can brighten a space year-round.

Designer Nicole Miller picks Mustard for a dining room while Peter Som said Marigold Yellow would make a "chic and happy" statement for a breakfast room.
For its "rich and deep with a tame, dusty overtone" Tia Cibani for Ports 1961 suggests Fuchsia for a dining room or bedroom. Reem Acra points to Pomegranate for entertaining spaces because "it is such a warm, inviting and passionate color."
Matching home decor with Pantone's palette of colors is possible. On Sept. 7, Pantone announced a partnership with Fine Paints of Europe, creating the ability to match Pantone Colors in paint.
