The Chopping Block receives Gourmet News' 2006 Retail Leadership Award |

SAN FRANCISCO--At a by invitation-only event here at Restaurant LuLu Jan. 21, Gourmet News presented its Gourmet News Retail Leadership Award to The Chopping Block for its achievements in the past year.
The Chopping Block, Chicago, received the 2006 Gourmet News Retail Leadership award for its focus creative marketing tactics and community involvement. The Gourmet News Retail Leadership Award is presented annually to a North American specialty retailer that has led the industry or other retailers in a specific gourmet business movement or mission.

Cooks Shop Here, Northampton, Mass., was recognized as the first runner-up for its commitment to educating the public at large.
The Blue Chair Bakery and Cafe, Sewanee, Tenn., was selected as the second runner up for exemplary community service.
