NASHVILLE, Tenn.-More than 200 people crammed into the Le Creuset store in Green Hills here on July 30 to celebrate local food and the launch of a fan Web site for the French cookware brand.

The site, www.truelecreuset.com, is the official community Web site for fans of Le Creuset. The Web site is designed to bring fans together to share.
Members of the True Le Creuset community can upload pictures, create their own profile, comment on product ideas, and share their stories. Interactive features on the site include Upcoming Events; Store Locator; Good Reads-a section of recommended books and foods; What's Cooking-fun facts and updates about what's going on at Le Creuset; Kitchen Talk-cooking techniques and tips; and Deep Roots-heritage stories from Le Creuset.
"Nashville was chosen for a few different reasons. Our biggest Signature Store is located there and also Nashville has a really tight foodie community that played right into the ideas we were addressing," explained Samantha Shuman, a spokesperson for Le Creuset and a senior account executive at the New York-based Coaction Public Relations.

The enameled cast iron cookware dates back to France in 1925. In recent years the cookware brand has expanded to include the introduction of enamel-on-steel water kettles in 1995, silicone spatulas in 1997, textiles in 1999, stoneware bakeware in 2001, silicone bakeware and stainless steel cookware in 2002, and non-stick frying pans in 2008. In 1991 it acquired Hallen International, known for its ScrewPull line of wine bottle openers.
