Kraft Heinz to Appoint Patricio as Chair, Park to Board

The Kraft Heinz Company announced that the Board of Directors intends to appoint Chief Executive Officer Miguel Patricio as chair, subject to his re-election at the Kraft Heinz 2022 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. IDF Announces Dairy Innovation Awards

The International Dairy Federation has announced the launch of the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards, which are designed to encourage and celebrate innovative practices across the dairy sector.

“Dairy actors around the world have been actively engaged over the years in improving farming and processing of milk and dairy foods,” said Piercristiano Brazzale, IDF president. “It is important for IDF to stimulate and share light on innovative practices and processes in the global dairy sector. IDF Board is thrilled to present the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards 2022, which will demonstrate the engagement and dynamism of our sector.”

The awards will be hosted by the IDF in partnership with world-leading food and drinks consultancy Zenith Global, supported by Headline sponsorship from Tetra Pak, a world leading food processing and packaging solutions company.

Entries will be invited in 12 awards categories, focusing on sustainable and community-led initiatives as well as new product development.

The IDF World Dairy Innovation Awards 2022 will be open for entries from April 1 to July 1. The award winners will be announced at the Sept. 12 awards ceremony during the IDF World Dairy Summit in Delhi, India.

IDF members are invited to participate in the awards free of charge, with paid entry available to non-members.

Japan to Promote Food Products in New York

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan will promote Japanese food products – primarily food from Fukushima Prefecture – in New York City during February and March, taking advantage of the deactivation of Japanese food import measures by the United States in September.

A reception, supported by the Consulate-General of Japan in New York and the JETRO New York office, will showcase Japanese food and food culture to local media representatives, influencers and food industry affiliates, including restaurant personnel.

The Feb. 17 reception will be held from 3-4:15 p.m. and 6-7:15 p.m. in the Murase Room of the Japan Society art gallery, 333 E. 47th St.

The reception includes a video message by Yutaka Arai, vice-minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan, and Masao Uchibori, governor of Fukushima Prefecture.

Food that will be promoted includes nigiri sushi from the Fukushima Prefecture, sukiyaki using wagyu beef from Fukushima Prefecture. The Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador will demonstrate soba-uchi.

The Consulate-General of Japan and JETRO New York office will launch a promotion to raise awareness for Japanese rice, onigiri (rice ball snacks) and its characteristics that make it popular with younger generations and corporate and school personnel.
From Feb. 17-26, onigiri bentos will be distributed to companies and schools in the New York area. From Feb. 18-25, onigiri bentos with rice from Fukushima Prefecture will be distributed and sold.
